three kinds of love

i remember the gems
the splender in them
how they light up the page
like there’s timber in them.

you’re pretending again
the inventing begins
we’re right at the age
and we’re left with a grin.

her contender is him
she surrenders the prim
she might try to gauge
but consent on a whim.

  1. A beautiful poem. You said a lot in so few words. The thoughts of love emotion can send us in many directions. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
