This is a variation of the manhattan made by Mike Robertson, Head Bartender of The Driftwood Room in Portland, Oregon.
The Sidney Poitier
2½ oz. Maker’s Mark bourbon
1 oz. Punt e Mes sweet vermouth
1 Amarena cherry, for garnish
Combine bourbon, vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice.
Stir 30 to 40 times and strain into a chilled martini glass; garnish with cherry.
